The
mayor of the City of Delft, Mr. R. M. Gallas, welcomes the African Music Festival
and the mayor of Delft receives Mr. Drammeh to honour him for his introduction
of the Festival to Delft
Meeting
with Mr. J. Brem (stedelijke activiteiten) at the hall
at the central market square of Delft , at a councelor's meeting honouring Mr.
Oko Drammeh for his activities.
A
meeting with the queen of African music Miriam Makeba in partnership for a project
with the city of delft and the town of Mamelode in South Africa to built good
houses in low income areas by the delft. Miriam Makeba is the patron of this
project.
Kunta Kinte legacy :
Oko Drammeh meeting with Binta Kinte, in Jufureh, near Albreda, on the banks
of the River Gambia. Binta is the only surviving direct member of the Kinte
family, decenting from Kunta Kinte, enslaved in 1750 (also know from Roots,
by Alex Haley)
