Legacy of the Ancient African Tribal Musicians, The Griots (Jali-Baa)

Griots, or Jali-Baa as they are called, are the tradition tribal musicians, who's job it was, and still is, to preserve the stories of the tribes and to sing their rituals and entertain them. Here are some picture of the ancient Jali-Baa of africa during the time of english colonialism. To be specific, during the visit of King George V to the then region of the river gambia. We compliment and thank the Gambian Museum for these ancient pictures.
